I love MetaFilter, which is generally the smartest site on the Internet. From time to time it’s the funniest, too. These comments are from an otherwise highbrow discussion about zoophilia (that is, people who really like animals).

What about the argument that we’re hypocritical to be offended by this? After all, we’ll happily kill and eat animals, won’t we?

The fact that we kill and eat animals without their consent is no less unethical just because we’ve decided, collectively, to recognize that it would be even more awful to fuck them first.
