Bad news for eBayers: HM Revenue and Customs is crawling eBay to find the people who should be paying VAT, but aren’t. Presumably they’re doing something similar with income tax, but VAT is the scary one: by all accounts the VAT man is the tax equivalent of Internal Affairs in the cops, and you really, really don’t want to get in his bad books.
