I thought it was excellent, though it was (oddly) better on a smaller screen than on a large one. I’m starting to think that it would be even better watched through the view finder of a camcorder. If ever there was a film suited to a tiny screen, Cloverfield is it.

Cloverfield is a great film!
Pay particular attention to the very last scene – the scene where they’re on the carosel, and they’re running out of battery on the camera right before Beth says “I had a good day”. Just as the camera warning beep sounds (sounds like a watch alarm) you can see an onbect in the distance crashing into the sea…

OK, now I’m definitely never going to watch it. Someone gave me that exact same advice about The Blair Witch Project, without which I’d have happily walked out after a few minutes. And the last scene, when it finally and boringly arrived, did nothing whatsoever to change the fact that it really was the worst film ever made.

I can’t be arsed with all the “lost” type crap. That’s why I stopped watching lost too.

Well if it makes you happ (which from the sounds of things, it wont) the creators of Lost have got it all sussed out now. There’s none of that “making it up as they go along” stuff any more.
Anyways, Lost is good too, even if they did spend two seasons just idling along…

I think that, out of all the films I’ve seen recently, that Ironman is still the most entertaining. However, I thought that Transformers was going to be a normal action movie, but thought that it was suprisingly funny and very enjoyable. There are some real laugh out loud moments.
Having now watched cloverfield a second time (we had visitors who wanted to see it!) after knowing the “really clever”JJ Abrams backstory – it’s a much better film if you don’t know the backstory. Knowing the other shite actually makes it not worth watching at all.

I just watched Knocked Up for the second time last night. It is utterly superb. Best film about having a baby ever.

I was expecting it to be more OTT, whereas in fact it is often completely disgusting, but never at the expense of realism. And it’s just a scarily accurate portrayal of parenthood, both impending and actual.
